Pet Diagnostics Services
To provide you with the highest-quality pet care, The Vet has invested in a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine. There are many important advantages of digital X-rays include:
- Immediately viewable on a computer
- Faster, more accurate diagnosis due to clearer, more detailed images
- Less time to process
- Ability to email to a board-certified veterinary radiologist
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a painless, safe, non-invasive procedure to evaluate your pet’s internal organs. It is one of the many ways we strive to give you peace of mind regarding your pet’s health. Using sound waves, ultrasound produces a real-time moving picture of your pet’s organs, allowing us to visualize objects that cannot be detected by X-rays alone.
Because of our commitment to providing the highest quality care, we have an in-house ultrasound and routinely do abdominal ultrasound procedures. A complete ultrasound procedure takes 15-45 minutes and generally requires only light sedation unless we perform a biopsy, which will require a heavier anesthetic. Results are usually available in 24-36 hours as we always have a board-certified radiology review the ultrasound images. Once the ultrasound results are available, we will work with you to develop a plan to treat your pet.
In-House Laboratory
The Vet houses a full-service diagnostic laboratory that allows us to perform complete blood counts, chemistry profiles, and urinalysis. Our advanced laboratory can analyze how well your pet’s internal organs and processes are functioning. Laboratory testing allows our veterinarians to obtain important information for assessing your pet’s overall systemic health without the need for invasive, expensive procedures. Thus, we maintain an advanced in-house laboratory and can perform tests during your pet’s wellness exam or when we suspect your companion may have a health issue.
